Finally finished this little seal! I really enjoyed playing with wet on wet for the background. I definitely want to keep exploring with watercolors, and see what else I can create with them. I’ve been feeling the creative spark again, so I need to take advantage of it while it is here right?

I did an Oracle card reading last night with Jessica Roux’s Woodland Wardens. I asked for some guidance on my creativity. At first, The Eel and Iris – Safety jumped out, and when I sat with it, it didn’t feel right. So I put it back in, shuffled again, and pulled out The Marten and Foxglove – Mischief. I definitely felt the playful energy from the card, but then realized: I do usually play it safe with my art, I don’t allow myself to play. But I need to. So the reading and my reaction to it was actually spot on. I need to remember, I can change my approach to creativity. I can embrace the playfulness.
